I am Deborah Wortman a qualified psychotherapist/counsellor in Halifax, West Yorkshire. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I am CRB/DBS checked and registered with UKCP the organization that registers qualified therapists.
In addition to counselling and psychotherapy I offer clinical supervision for qualified and trainee counsellors and therapists.

I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
This can be on a private basis or in some instances arranged through employers as part of their Employment Assistance Program.
I also offer counselling to young people aged 13 -18 years, for which I have received specialist training. When considering a counsellor for a young person it is important that the counsellor has had specific training in working with them and dealing with issues arising during adolescence.

Over the past few years I have become increasingly experienced in working with people on the autistic spectrum and the unique challenges and skills needed in working with this interesting and rewarding client group. (please refer to the Autism Spectrum Counselling section for more details)
Brighouse Counselling and Psychotherapy is in Halifax Yorkshire, and within easy reach of Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and the M62 corridor in general. The practice is 10 minutes away from the M62 and is close to the centre of Halifax and Calderdale Royal Infirmary, parking is available on the road.
The practice has been specifically set up to offer a calm space in which to reflect, away from the pressures of daily life, with a comfortably furnished therapy room.
However I also offer Skype sessions, and currently have a number of both international clients and more distant UK clients.
